How To Give Yourself A Promotion

PRINCIPLE #3The framework that keeps profit + results + team aligned must ensure that your model + culture + operations can thrive without you.

PRINCIPLE #4: The best model + operations + culture won’t free you up unless you also promote yourself into a new job.

  • You START by upgrading your model.

    The reason you need to start here isn’t that you need a NEW model. Rather, it’s that you need to optimize your EXISTING model so that sales, marketing, fulfillment, etc. no longer rely on YOU.

    Start by completing a comprehensive audit of how your business exchanges value with clients. From there, you’ll be able to determine what you can do differently in order to add infinitely more clients without losing profitability OR results.

  • NEXT, you work on your operations.

    Once your model is scalable, the next step is to structure the operational elements so that your team can take ownership of the entire process, from end-to-end.

    Do this by examining who on your team is currently doing what, where the gaps are, who is creating bottlenecks, and how you can redistribute those responsibilities so that they don’t rely on you any longer.

  • THEN, you upgrade your culture.

    With your team's roles ultra-clear, the last step is to instill cultural systems and practices, so that they can help grow the business without you needing to delegate, micromanage, or get into the weeds with them.

    The way to do this is by evaluating your cultural systems and practices—including how you communicate, strategize, pay people, etc—so that you can empower your team to make decisions and get things done in alignment with your purpose, vision, mission and values.

As you complete steps 1-3, you will end up with a scalable model, operations and culture.

The best part is, though, as long as you do them correctly, you’ll also start to see an immediate shift in how you spend your time and energy on a day-to-day basis.

And that is what will free you up so you can actually promote yourself to being the Visionary CEO you want to be.
